Thrash Metal Band Exodus Cancel Mexican Tour Dates

Published by dletus at 7:19 am under Thrash Metal Edit This

Bay area thrash metal legends Exodus have had to cancel their scheduled Mexican tour dates. The band released the following statement on their website:

“Due to circumstances beyond our control the two shows in Mexico have been cancelled. We expect to announce new dates for Mexico soon. All other shows are still on… Let there be blood!”

Exodus recently released a re-recording of their 1985 thrash metal classic debut album Bonded By Blood. The re-recording is titled Let There Be Blood and is out now on Zaentz Records.

Regarding the band’s decision to re-record Bonded By Blood, guitarist Gary Holt previously said: “It is our way of paying homage to Paul Baloff [former Exodus vocalist who passed away in 2002] by showing how relevant these songs we had written together still are. We aren’t trying to replace the original; that’s impossible anyway. We are just giving these songs the benefit of modern production. It’s something we talked about before Paul’s death and it’s always been important to us to do. We were super-excited about entering the studio once again to record these classics, and now it’s back to writing the next studio record!”

Exodus have also announced they will play Bonded By Blood in its entirety during their November 15, 2008 concert at El Corazon in Seattle, and on December 7, 2008 at the Key Club in Hollywood.
